New Year in Lagos Portugal

Happy New Year to everyone from Lagos, Portugal. After driving 1,700 km, we arrived in Lagos to meet John & Olga for New Year's Eve, and we had a great time with good food, good company & some fireworks thrown in for good measure. The weather here is warm, about twenty degrees and primarily sunny, much better than France or the UK. We explored some wild places, walking the crumbling cliffs to Burgau, where we were lucky to see a Booted Eagle.

Sardinian Warblers were in nearly every bush touting for mates. We have no photographs to show, but we have some super ones of our first-ever Monarch butterfly and some rather cheeky Zitting Cisticolas found along the magnificent Meia Praia beach at the Reserva Natural da Ria de Alvor.
